Former President Barack Obama now has a social media record under his belt – the most liked tweet in Twitter history.

Obama responded on Tuesday night to the violence in Charlottesville, Virginia by sharing a picture of him with children of different nationalities and quoting former South African president Nelson Mandela.

“No one is born hating another person because of the color of his skin, or his background, or his religion. People must learn to hate, and if they can learn to hate, they can be taught to love, for love comes more naturally to the human heart than its opposite.”

The original photo was taken in 2011 by then-White House photographer Pete Souza, capturing Obama greeting school children at a daycare in Bethesda, Maryland. Obama was on his way to see his daughter, Sasha, at her elementary school, which was nearby.

Obama’s tweet beats the previous record set by Ariana Grande when she responded to the terror attack at her concert back in May.
