Mike Will Made-It Discusses Making ‘Formation’ With Beyoncé and Rae Sremmurd

Mike Will Made-It sat down with Pigeons and Planes to take about how he made “Formation” with Beyoncé.

“The process was like gumbo,” the producer said. The song was originally inspired by freestyles from Rae Sremmurd, who he played the beat for in his car. The two came up some of the song’s most memorable lyrics, including the hook “Okay ladies, now let’s get in formation,” and “When he f**k me good, I take his a** to Red Lobster.”
